asalamo alaykom : im very proud of this site ,& i must thank u all for the great efforts done here. ............ive finished my emtyaz this year in ainshams ,&im studing the usmle step2 .i wanted to ask if its easier or better to study in america as my aunt lives there &i was born there to. so i could go  &complete my studing & take the exams instead of staying in egypt. also i wanted to know what r the benifts of being a us citizen in the matching program. another question is amercias economic crisis affecting the matching programs & the doctors life there? ..................      thanks alot for ur help. :

As for Dr lolyia, i think it does not matter if you finish your exams in Egypt or USA. I personally prefer that examas to be finished in our countries since it is cheaper. here in USA it is more expensive to stay in apartmant and so on. One advantage of being here is to do elective rotation or research (US experience). This may help in your application. For US citizinship, it will help a great deal in your aplication.

For Dr mhd Alkhateeb, I think you still have a chance to do recidency if you get high scores in USMLE. Although your graduation year is imprtant in the aplication, your previous residency and experience is also in your advantage.
